We were very excited when Rajneeta asked us to be her wedding photographers. A Hindu wedding was guarenteed to be full of colour and traditions. This Melbourne wedding indeed had all that. We covered three days of the week long celebrations.
We started with the Henna night where the arms, hands and feet of the bride are painted by a Henna artist in preparation for the wedding. It was a relaxed affair with some family and friends. The next night was the Tumeric night, where the bride’s face and arms are covered with the yellow Tumeric paste. Then there was the wedding day.
The bride decided against the traditional red of Hindu bridalwear. Instead she opted for a magnificent hand beaded ensemble of purple, pink and silver. She looked like an Indian princess. Stunning!
At the ceremony venue, it was as if we had stepped into a Bollywood movie scene. Colourful sarees everywhere! Hope you enjoy our coverage of this beautiful affair.
